Found in Australia, they extract
oxygen from the water using their
two enlarged cloaca bursae
These little guys can pump water
in and out of their bums,
and get up to two thirds of their air supply

The dragonfly nymphs’s anus act as gills underwater
Their rectum gills are so sensitive,
that they can detect pollution
In fact, dragonfly nymph’s butts are quite astonishing
They eat by drawing water into their anus

that pushes up their lower lip
